I never actually killed any of the skeletons blocking the caves, I just snuck past them. Perhaps I need to kill them to get the boulder to move?

That might be it. I did actually kill all of the skeletons because I couldn't think of any other way around them. ;)
What I'm wondering though... you said that the difficulty bar and the health bar were on the same address? You can't take off the first bar on the difficulty meter, so the lowest it can get is won. It -might- be that the max for the difficulty is actually 15, while the health bar is 16. If that set both to 16, then you might be at a difficulty that doesn't exist. Unless you weren't using them. The newest version of my guide has the skeleton killing items in it though, so that should help too.

Wow, S.C.A.T. is fairly tough. I'm still plodding along through it, putting about 30 minutes in a day. I'm at the last level though. Once I beat it legitimately, I'll go through again with save states to write the walkthrough and then be done with it.
Ideas for games to do? Hm, well if you like shooters, there's Super Star Force and Zanac. There's also Tengen Shinobi for a more action-styled game. But Shinobi kind of sucks and if Super Star Force is anything like Star Force, it'll be hard as hell to beat. Still, those are probably some of the more enjoyable American games left to FAQ.
I was planning to do Zanac next since I'm a huge Guardian Legend fan, but if you, FFM, want to, go ahead. I'll be on Lineage 2 hiatus anyway after S.C.A.T. is finished.

Thanks for the offer, Eric, but I'll go ahead and you knock those two down. =D I went through my obscure shooter library of games and picked out:

Star Soldier
Image fight it too long and boring. I think I'll give Start Soldier a shot.

Sapharos, if you finish S.C.A.T., it is the same game as the PAL NES game Action in New York.
Also, Super Star Force isn't a straight shoot-em up. Think "The Guardian Legend," in fact, it could probably be considered a prequel, as I think Compile had a hand in both games.

Thanks for the info. I'm trying :) The last level is super tough, and I'm trying to be thorough. But I'll keep that in mind when I do submit.
As for Super Star Force, are you sure you aren't talking about Zanac? I've always heard that's the prequel to Guardian Legend, or at least that it seems like one. But if there are two prequels to GL, that's even cooler because I love the game personally.

Just contemplating how I will do BL3 (likely the same as the previous 2). Between your help on #3 adam and the fan mail I got on the first one offering help on #4 (he requested I do #3 and #4), I should have the whole series done soon enough on NES.

Brian, unfortunately the only thing I can tell you is that you have to play the perfect game in Bases Loaded 3. As far as I can remember, and I beat the game about 8 or 9 years ago, is that there is no season to play through or World Series/Championship game to win. You just have to play the perfect game, not allowing a base runner and scoring at least 1 run to win the game. I'm not sure if stuff like "caught stealing" would count against you or not. If you walk someone, the perfect game is off. If you hit a batter or make a single error in the field, the game is off. You keep playing, but there is no chance to get the ending.
If you do manage to play the perfect game, then you get the ending sequence and the game ends. You get a rating at the end of the game that determines if you played perfectly. 100 is a perfect score and gets you the ending.
Don't click on the following link unless you want to see the ending sequence:

BSulphur, I was kind of wrong on what a perfect game required. I went through and beat the game on an emulator and here is what I found:
-You have to beat a Level 5 team and finish the game with a rating of 100.
Here is the criteria you have to abide by to get your rank of 100 in the game (this is word for word on the rating screen after the game):
RATINGS SCREEN
1. Errors/Other Miscues -3 x _
2. Delayed Throws -3 x _
3. Inside Park HRS -3 x _
4. Throws to Unmanned Base -3 x _
5. Runs Forced by Walk -3 x _
6. Tired Pitcher in Game -3 x _
7. 3Runs or More/Inning -3 x _
8. Advance on Wild Pitch -3 x _
9. Strikeouts -3 x _
10. Caught Stealing -3 x _
11. Picked Off -3 x _
12. Great Play +2 x _
13. Bonus +1 x _
---------------------------------------------------
TOTAL ___
So I guess you start with a 100 rating and if you make the following negative (-) plays above, you lose points. You do have a chance to make it up with the Great Play and Bonus points, but I'm not really sure what those are exactly. I don't have the manual but it is probably explained in there.
Apparently you do not have to throw a perfect game.

FlameKnight,
Just look for an NES game that doesn't have any guides for it yet, or only a partial one. Nietsnie made a website listing all of them--it's near the first or second page of the topic. I should bug him about the password to my account--I forgot it!
Thanks to others for making it *so far* way back with their posts. I've noticed some names I didn't see before and that's cool--of course there are old favorites too.
And I'm working on Mendel Palace right now so I'm doing my part. Really!

FFMrebirth: If you can do a guide for Ring King, you're a better NES man than I. I've pondered starting one up for that several times, but every time I remember I've had it since the 80's and have yet to get -any- better at it whatsoever.
And it's not even because it's a horrible boxing game. I just suck that bad apparently. The only person I've known that ever got really good at it was my uncle. ;)

I checked out the list, 'cause I just finished the Chip 'n Dales guide, and I have two questions.
1-What game is "Frankenstein: The Monster Returns"? I wrote a guide for "Frankenstein", is it the same game?
2-What's up with "King of Kings"? Were there really three games called "King of Kings" made for the NES?

Frankenstein: The Monster Returns is the same game as the Frankenstein you wrote your FAQ for. You should notify Jeff about that.
There is only one King of Kings game for the NES, by Wisdom Tree. The other King of Kings game is an older game for the Famicom, an RPG by Namco. They are two completely different games.

I started playing a game called King Kong 2 - Ikari no Megaton Punch by Konami. You play as King Kong and the game seems pretty cool, as you move along on a Zelda-like landscape where each screen is one area of play. You warp around to different places, needing to collect keys. I am actually stuck right now. If there was a cool game that screamed for a FAQ, this would definitely be it.
Any takers?

Man, adaml , your help here has basically turned this into the adaml completion topic. It's almost like you're running the whole show anymore ;)
Good job.
Thanks FFMRebirth, but I am just adding my 2 cents here and there. ASchultz is the man here, singlehandedly getting the focus on NES FAQs.
I really didn't want to see this topic fade away and I don't like just bumping a topic, so I tried to think of constructive things to say.
Still want to see someone do a King Kong FAQ though :)

How far are you in your FAQ? If you're farther then the Genie's Lamp, than you're farther than me...

I hate to just mindlessly bump this post, but I just gotta point out that there are now 300 posts in this subject. Quite impressive for a system that has been "dead" for almost a decade.
