That site is incredible! I've already found some missing stats for Last Bible II monsters that the game didn't reveal as you couldn't recruit or fuse them, and quite a few other RPGs... including Body Conquest II. :O

I've used that site a few times now, notably for the Akuma-kun game (enemy data primarily, but since the site seems to list items/abilities in the order you receive them, it helped me figure out what I was missing greatly).

And then there are still those great hidden sites you come across by Googling the game's name (using Kana).

With a little hacking you can have monsters on your side you normally couldn't, thus see their stats. I was more interested into what NES games he lists not yet covered haha :)

Devin, I noticed you put me down for Murder Club, no way I'm going through that I think. If anything I'll play the TG one, but too many people tell me it's easy to get stuck and impossible to beat (glitchy or just bad game, who knows).

But I'm making progress on Ramen Man, even though my 8bit fighting skills aren't up to par with what the programmers had in mind.

I figured it must be something like that. Anyway, I got sidetracked. ;)

And that's a handy tip for searching for stuff Devin, might open up some new possibilities. But for now I'm working on a newly translated Grandia game on the GBC.

Odino, Peacock King 2 please!!!!!!!!!!

Hey threetimes, when you get to the last boss, could you give me a save state or battery save? I want to record the ending for the game. I'll give you the credit of course.

Do you know if the game has multiple endings or not?

Which game? Grandia Parallel Trippers or Last Bible II?

threetimes, ever played Heracles no Eikou? DVDTranslations is pretty much done with an English patch.

Yes, I played a bit of the DS game. I'll definitely give that a go when it's done. Still struggling with GPT though so I hope it's later rather than sooner. My main file has corrupted twice now, so I can't view the 275 battle action cards which has slowed everything down, a lot.

Not sure if anyone is interested in FDS games but Risa no Yousei is driving me crazy. Its a text adventure but at one point you have to yell into the mic to change a frog into a princess. There's a great Nico video of a complete walkthrough but there's no explanation of what to do exactly. It takes place about 15 minutes in.

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3015994

I've tried to configure the mic/controller setting on my various "game systems" but still unable to figure it out.

If I'm outta line asking for help on a FDS game let me know. Thanks

Ive been using NEStopia and FECUX and set up the mic to be controller 2 on my keyboard but not sure exactly when to use the mic. I know how to do it, just not sure when to do it.

If I cant get past that part, there wont be any walkthrough.
ReyVGM | Posted 12/14/2011 8:20:40 PM | message detail
I guess you already used google to search for walkthroughs, but I found a few sites that might have the info you need.

This one talks a lot about the game, so I don't know if your answer is there:
http://tokimugi.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/93/
http://tokimugi.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/94/

This one has a step by step walkthrough:
http://www.geocities.jp/jingu_2004/k/k-risa.html

This one has a code to see the true ending:

GForce645 | Posted 12/15/2011 8:59:26 PM | message detail
Thanks Rey, I've actually checked those sites already but thanks for the links. I still cant get by it even though Ive changed the configurations several times with Controllers 1&2 and Mic options. If anyone wants to give it a shot I can send you a save state for NEStopia and/or FCEUX.
ReyVGM | Posted 12/15/2011 9:14:15 PM | message detail
FCEUX doesn't have mic options. Only Nestopia (and maybe virtualnes) has it.

Only the 2nd controller had the mic option in the original console, so make sure you have both controllers enabled but only have the mic enabled on the 2nd one. Also, maybe you are not using it in the correct game's location?

Do a search about what other Famicom game used the mic, download it and use it, just to see if the emu is at least recognizing that input.
enigmaopoeia | Posted 12/16/2011 12:30:46 AM | message detail
I decided to give this game a go and I can see what GForce645 is talking about, I too am stuck where I have to use the mic.
Using Nestopia, I unset the mic on Port 1 and only have it set on Port 2. However it still does not work.

Thanks for looking into it E. The Nico video is excellent and the game looks really crisp and fun but hit a dead end so quickly it seems.

FCEUX has a mic feature I thought. On the controller configuration there is a box to click that turns the START button on controller 2 into the mic feature.

As for NEStopia I know there is a feature for Karoake studio and has a mic feature. I tried all the combinations possible at the many points in the text/dialogue with no success.

Enig, are you able to read and understand the Japanese text in the game or just following along in the video?

Enig, are you able to read and understand the Japanese text in the game or just following along in the video?

I self taught myself Japanese, but I'm far from being fluent in it -- I can translate minor words here and there.
I mainly used the walkthrough that ReyVGM posted earlier, though I noticed some mistakes in that walkthrough.

First you have to see if the mic option is working correctly. Play another game that uses the mic and see if it works.

Thanks Enig, I'll try it again myself from the beginning. Is there any special advice for using it on VirtuaNES or does it work just like we've been talking about? If I cant get it to work I'll ask for the save state sometime next week. Thanks again.
enigmaopoeia | Posted 12/16/2011 9:19:04 PM | message detail
Nope, I did not do anything special, just setup the Port 1 controller to read my gamepad.
Just go back to the room and talk to the frog twice. As the frog says, "Onegai! Jumon o!" ["Please, say the magic word!"] Press the "M" key on your keyboard and voila, frog is now a princess.

I was able to beat the game and saw both the regular ending and the true ending. Thanks for linking that code, ReyVGM.
I have also submitted the code so that other people can watch the true ending as well.

I have to say that it is kind of ingenious to give out game hints through the song sung by Risa Tachibana.

When do you enter the code to see the true ending? I tried it on Controller 1 at the last scene when I could advance no further. It showed some Japanese words then [4444444], I tried the code there but nothing changed.

Another question: When writing a walkthrough to be poster here, what is the policy about talking about emulation and ROM's? Can I suggest emulators and talk about alternate hardware in the walkthrough?
ReyVGM | Posted 12/17/2011 11:34:45 AM | message detail
Don't mention roms, but you can talk about emulation.

I always like to assume that I'm playing on a real hardware though. Since emulation has so many advantages, if I mention those on a FAQ, whoever plays the game on real hardware and uses my FAQ will feel left out or in the dark if I start talking about save states or hex codes.

But that's just me.
enigmaopoeia | Posted 12/17/2011 3:46:54 PM | message detail
When do you enter the code to see the true ending?

You enter it when you see the "Your Keyword" [Anata no Kîwâdo] screen.
Then press Left, Right, Left, Right, Down, and Up and you will see the True Ending where Muu and Risa are on the beach.

I submitted a walkthrough for Risa no Yousei, thanks for your help Rey and Enig. I've credited you in the walkthrough as well.

Now I'm about 30% through Hokotu 3 (Fist of the North Star 3) by following a TAS video from Nico. The video speeds through some parts without explaining. Theres a text slide in the TAS video that tells me what to do but I cant read it. I have 4 members in my party, I'm freeing people from prison cells, talk to old wizard, TEXT SLIDE, now there are 3 members in the party, talk to the old wizard and he joins the party now.

Thats where I'm stuck. I've searched links, translations, and such but nothing is clear at all. I have save states and a screen grab of the TEXT SLIDE in Japanese, anyone got a few minutes to take a look or figure out how to release a member of your party?

Heres the link to the whole set of videos I've been using. Its video #4 and the part I'm having trouble with starts at around 10:30. I enter the dungeon with 4 members, beat the mini boss, go the the cell to free the white & blue guys. At 11:20 is a text slide by the video creator with a message in Japanese and the video cuts to the beginning of the dungeon again with only 3 members. I dont think that 4th person was killed off, I think he was released from the group. Thanks for taking a look at this one.

If you look at 10:54, you will see that Bat's HP dropped to zero. Therefore his sprite was removed from the party and you can see him as the fourth party member with 0 HP. Therefore the player, bustergear, posted, "There's nothing you can do, but to go back to Cassandra to pick up Bat again." Thus he instead recruited Toki from the jail cell.

And here's another great Japanese walkthrough:

So the poster gets Bat again and recruits Toki? When I try to recruit him in my game it doesnt let me. In the video the first time I talk to the white guy (Toki) I get the same response on the video is in my game. Then the TEXT SCREEN and the group starts at the beginning of the dungeon again. Go back to talk to Toki with 3 members and now he joins. What is done differently before and after to make him join. Is it mandatory for him to join? If you watch the video a little longer, the party transports to another place at 14:54. They appear next to a dark figure in a cape, I dont get that in my game. Should I just scrap it and start over?
enigmaopoeia | Posted 12/19/2011 10:57:41 PM | message detail | (edited)
So the poster gets Bat again and recruits Toki? ... What is done differently before and after to make him join.

More like the player got rid of Bat and replaced him with Toki.
You also would need three people in your party in order to recruit Toki or else he won't join.

Is it mandatory for him to join?

No, but most people prefer Toki in their party over Bat. I seen another playthrough where the person also chose Toki over Bat @
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm8068508

It seems maybe they dropped Bat off at Cassandra, not pick up. Please excuse my previous translation.

the party transports to another place at 14:54. They appear next to a dark figure in a cape, I dont get that in my game.

They selected "Move" [Idô] in the menu which is the bottom right option. And then "Grimm Town" [Gurimu Taun], the sixth option. Then you would battle with Raoh, the big guy in a cape.

This is what I gathered from the videos, so I hope this helps.

I also found these useful site for names and etc. in English: http://hokuto.wikia.com/wiki/Hokuto_no_Ken_3

Even though Bat is dead in my game his 0 HP still holds a place in my party stat bar. I have to figure out how to release him from my party and get Toki. In the video before they unlock Toki's cell Bat is dead. His character isnt visible but his stats are visible. Toki says something to the party, TEXT SCREEN, start at the dungeon entrance again but only 3 people in the party. Bat isnt just dead, his stats arent in the stat bar anymore. I have to figure out what the video poster did to drop him from the group. Thanks for all the great link but I cant follow the Japanese and the English translation is just as confusing. I'll keep trying
enigmaopoeia | Posted 12/20/2011 9:00:26 AM | message detail
Can you PM me your savestate, and I can try to figure out how to get Bat out of the party. Most of the online Japanese video playthroughs I've seen always skip out the part where they somehow got Bat out of the party. =/ I'm quite puzzled myself.

My opinion is that someone in the Top10 list that has not created a topic yet should create it now.

If not, then someone who has written guides for this project and regularly post here.

And if no-one that meets the second criteria wants to do it, someone that has helped the project (in either advice or guides).

fyi, I would consider myself in the final recommendations, as I do not consider my posting in this topic as regular. I would consider enigmaopoeia and GForce645 to be part of the second recommendations (written a guide and currently posting here regularly).

You don't need to do any of that. You only create the new topic (with a link to http://faqs.retronintendo.com/ in the first post).

Devin will generally keep track of completed games and the remaining incomplete games, as well as anything else for that website.

GForce is a great choice to start Part 12. He plans on beating every Famicom/FDS game now that he has beaten all the NES games, so the fact that he may FAQ a few of these Famicom games along the way makes him a worthy thread starter.

G, take a look at how all 11 threads of the completion project have been started by various people and make it sorta like that, but add your own unique insight to the message as well.

Thanks for the advice and support from everyone. I'm def a late comer to this party but have learned a lot about so many games I've never heard of thanks to everyone's work.

Adam said I "plan" to beat every game, more like "hope" to. There are some pretty strange and tough games out that that I cant make any sense of but will keep trying.

I believe this is the 500th message so this Round 11 will come to a close. I'll start Round 12 right after this. I check this site several times a day recently now that work has slowed down for me here.

See you soon in the next one
