Pipe Dream has been sent in. Apparently I started it back in 5/2002. Without everyone else's posts who knows if I'd had the time to finish it.
I've thought about writing a Puyo Pop FAQ, since it'd be useful for a lot of systems and we don't have anything too technical for that yet, and I may if Crystal Mines, my next big NES project, gets bogged down. I requested the text maps be removed so I could write an actual complete FAQ.
I also have another game, Thexder, which I'm looking at. It would require a huge map--scaled down if submitted to gamefaqs--and the guide is barely conceived right now. Thexder was an old Apple IIgs game once and looked much better there, but I still would like to leave a guide for it.
All that and Gauntlet II still to procrastinate.
Revned, looked at the site again and thanks for saving my original topic. I wanted a copy of it and got busy and forgot to do the save-work.

Oops. Forgot to add: Da Hui asking about Exodus maps had me thinking. What I use now requires a chunk of C programming skills but I was thinking about creating a utility which allowed for mapping a game, or sending it to a text map, from save states, with a simple programming language. If anyone has a game where text maps would be useful and has a knowledge of hex editors and wants to look into this, let me know. I've used the general idea for Shockwave and Crystal Mines in this topic, and I bet it would be good for other games too.

Hehe, I know that. I tried resubmitting because I know that'll probably work faster than the problem report. We also did submit most of the games seperately such as Deathbots, Menace Beach, etc (Look at both of our CRPs.) But some of the games are just so small that I don't really think they would be accepted to begin with.

red soul, Commando is a fun game. A FAQ for this would be great, especially if it showed where all the hidden ladders were. Check out my code on gamefaqs for how to get a hidden message at the end of the game.
FalconPain, you are a brave man for wanting to FAQ Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. That stage near the end with the barrels is a monster.

Has anyone tried tackling the Famicom game Chesterfield? I ask only because I got fairly close to what I think is the end, but I just can't beat the boss of that level. This game was supposedly going to be released in the US, as there were pics in one of the early mags, but it never did.
It's a pretty good game too...has elements of Adventure of Link, Faxanadu and Flying Warriors.
Hint. Hint.

Good work everyone! We're really making progress. I've been busy lately, so I can't really work on Gun Nac. Hopefully this weekend I'll have some time. Anyway, while updating the site I noticed a couple things I need cleared up:
kirbyroks - Is your Super Xevious guide complete? It has an empty circle but you said it was done and it's version 1.0. I listed it as complete a few days ago, but I want to make sure. Also, is it the same game as Super Xevious: Ganpu no Nazo? You said you'd do both, but they're linked to the same page.
FalconPain - Is your Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde guide complete? I'm leaving it as incomplete until you confirm it here or update it.
Also, good job Sapharos. Your S.C.A.T. guide knocked 3 games off the list.

It should be complete, but I chose the wrong option for some reason. Probably something about how it was a FAQ and not a walkthrough. I'm an idiot.

FalconPain, I read it alright. That was one of the most enlightening guides I've read through in awhile. Now I have to play through the damned game again to see the other ending. Very few games that old would have multiple endings...I would have never thought Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde did.
By the way, I never doubted your ability to write a FAQ for the game, I just know from playing pretty much every single NES game that it is one of the most difficult. You seemed to have taken it personally or something :)

I'm contemplating continuing my Ultimate Stuntman guide. I had actually done more on that thing than I thought and now that the twins are a bit older (8+ months) and are kind of on schedule, I was toying with the idea of maybe doing a level a night. I'd probably have it done some time in March if I did that, but at least I would contribute a guide to this project instead of my inane ramblings and 2 cent comments ;)

Hui, the hardest part about Low G Man, if I recall, was having enough time to beat the final boss.
Oh yeah, you also have to beat the game 3 times for the best ending. Taxan were a bunch of bastards.

Is this a literal "win three times" thing a la Ghosts and Goblins, or is it more like 8 Eyes and its TAXANTAXAN and FINALSTAGE codes?
From: adaml
| Posted: 2/3/2005 11:52:40 PM | Message Detail
It's more like 8 Eyes, in that you have to go through the game 3 straight times, albeit with harder difficulty each time, to get the best ending. You get endings the first 2 times that are okay, but they say something like "Now try a harder game" or something like that. It has been awhile since I beat Low G Man, so I don't recall exactly.
The final ending to 8 Eyes was cool, as that little monster said something like he never expected a mere mortal to be reading what he said:
http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/nes/b/8y3.htm
By the way, for those of you who thought you beat Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, FalconPain's FAQ will make you take it off your game's beaten list and have to play through it again. Seriously, how many of you knew there was a "good ending" to that game? Having to fight a final boss makes you look at that game in a completely different light. This was the first time I had to update my NES Game Endings FAQ because of misinformation :)

Man, Commando is DEFINATELY the most frustrating depressing insanely difficutlt game I have ever played.
Finding all the secret ladders is sooooooooooooooo hard and since you're only given 3 lives it's impossible.
Add to that the stupid gas room which I have to find the secret exits to.......man this is gonna take some time.
(But hopefully the FAQ will be perfect).
Sorry for the complaining.

adam, I never really had a problem with the last boss. And I know you have to beat it three times, I beat it two and a half times before and then I kept getting stuck on the boss that keeps dropping those poison cannisters. If I remember, since I played the game at the age of 6, I think I was always too afraid to try to attack it because I was always worried I would lose some health. Now when I play games, my health is my last concern so I really shouldn't have a problem. I'm also not sure if I will but I'm thinking of writing a walkthrough for each difficulty but I don't remember what changed, whether it was the enemies quality or quantity or both. I'll just have to see.

red soul, there is a code where you can reveal all ladders. I believe it involves the second controller, so if you are playing on an actual NES that code should help you with the ladders. I just went and found the code:
At the title screen use controller 2 and press Left, Left, Left, B, B, A, A, A, A, Right, then press start on controller 1.
Da Hui, I think it was the final boss in the last quest that gave me a hard time, time-wise. I don't recall what exactly was different in each quest...perhaps the time to complete the stages are the major change?
