Attention children, for the NES FAQ Completion Project is in need of some assistance!

*ahem*

As a favour to one Devin The Morgan (nm14 patent pending on name), I went through and got some updated stats. However, the current data may be slightly skewed due to some removal of duplicate games from the incomplete list, which I based the remaining games for each letter upon in the stats.

So how does this mean you are asked to help you ask? Well, I seek some volunteers, and with some holiday time coming, I figure now is a good time for this endeavour. What I propose is this:

-a list of possible helpers
-a division of letters for NES listings, assigned to specific helpers
-a count of the total game listings for each letter, followed by the proper complete FAQ listings (meaning clicking on each FAQ link and spotting a blue dot or not)
-submission of the data to myself

*note that the Letter X is already accurate you wisearses* ;)

So, anyone wish to help the Stats page regain it's former luster and once again be a beacon of shining information? Even if not, could you still help me out with this?

Please e-mail, IM, or post here about your interest, and I will get around to assigning the letters (the sooner the better).

Thanks guys,

Brian

Just get in touch with me sometime if you want assign me some job, I don't care what (after Conflict and my SMS projects I have some personal ambitions before continuing actual guide writing here though). I won't be available until saturday or sunday. Thirteen hours on the bus today and I'm going to bed, spending tomorrow with my brother.

I'd help with that Brian but I'm still on 56k. I recently got a new computer so all these new games have taken away all my time, and I didn't have much time to begin with. I might start FAQing again for Christmas vacation though. If i do, I'll start Wednesday and look through a few games, maybe driving games, I've been in the mood for those. If I don't post anything that obviously means I won't have the time, sooooo, Happy Holidays!

Hey, thanks for the compliments on my Rainbow Silkroad Walkthrough. ^^;; I was originally going to submit it in September, but I got lazy and was too busy with other side projects not GameFAQs related.

But yeah, I'm gonna submit it for FAQ of the Month. It'll be nice if I win, but hey -- a girl can dream. =)

From: adaml | Posted: 12/20/2005 7:22:26 PM | Message Detail
I noticed there are quite a few games listed for the NES here on gamefaqs that I am 99% sure don't exist. NES Vigilante for instance. This game was never on the NES but was on the SMS and TG16. In fact, the code on this site for the NES version was originally printed in one of the early issues of Gamepro...listing Vigilante as an NES game in the code. See how one simple screw-up can have ramifications even years down the road.

Anyways, I'd like to compile a list of all NES listed games on this site that I don't believe exist and maybe have it cross-checked by others like Brian and Devin. I don't claim to be an expert, but I am pretty knowledgeable about these things. I also know of a lot of NES prototypes that exist and would want to keep them listed here (or add protos that aren't listed) because they do indeed exist.

Yes it is and thank goodness a friend of mine is an expert at HD data recovery because I had a number of old guides that would have been dead and never released on GFAQs. I just don't post up immediately because converting them to GFAQ acceptance standards is almost as tiresome than writing complete in-depth guides in one shot especially the big ones.

Rockboard was small enough to do surgery on so I did it.

Hey, I was just looking at the list of incomplete games, and I noticed you have Moero Twinbee listed. For a long time, Moero Twinbee was incorrectly listed as a separate game from Stinger, but I sent in a data submission to have that taken care of about a year ago. So now both titles are listed under a single FAQ page under the American title 'Stinger,' which already has a complete FAQ for it and has had one since before this project began.

So you can take that game off the list.
