This topic is the fourth topic installment of the project initialized by Andrew Shultz in May 2004. To read about the project please see the website, here: faqs.retronintendo.com If you wish to join the project, check out the incomplete list on the webpage. Choose an available game and let us know that you want your work for incomplete games counted towards the project. When you have submitted a complete (full circle) guide, the work will count. I call dibs on the NES FAQ Completion Project, Part 5 topic start. :) ASchultz, good to see you back. I would want to totally eliminate Frontline from my memory banks as well. I actually have 3 different FAQs started but simply cannot get motivated to finish them. Between 2 year-old twins, a demanding wife, a hectic job and Texas Hold'em, the FAQs seem to be the ones taking the hit. Anyone know if Jajamaru no Daibouken or Taro's Quest have been translated (Not asking for anything)? That was odd on the Magic Johnson thing. The game's been out for 16 years, meaning that it took 5840+ days for a FAQ to be made for the game, yet two come out on the same day. Alright, since someone else was asking on a game board a month ago I felt pressured and am now set up on AIM as PerilousSalmon... I'm definitely considering Gekimadden, I'm not sure how much clearer the subscreen will make it. I'll give it a test run later, my last exam's Wednesday so next week I'll be playing catch up in the projects I guess. The problem with Taro's Quest is that it apprently only has two of three quests. What I could do is play through that first and then Ninpou, but it's been localized so I wouldn't know how to handle that in a FAQ. Maybe something for either one. It still brings up the problem of the third quest being completely in Japanese... --- 585467 Centipede | Complete FAQS: 40 http://ccc.domaindlx.com/CoolZomb/ Zombies! (Warning: Blood, etc) |

PeterL, consider yourself lucky that the virus strawhat infested you with is the only virus you contracted from doing Magic Johnson. Yes, I am probably going to hell. Gemerl, Taro's Quest is a tricky one. Bear with me while I explain, as it has been a few years since I played it. When I first played through the Taro's Quest prototype I thought I had beaten it at one point, then figured out there was another quest. I played through that and considered the game beaten. Then someone else at Lost Levels, who I believe to be either Skrybe or ArnRimmer83, played around with the ROM and discovered that there was indeed a 3rd quest like we thought there might be, as I recall there are 3 paths leading from the mountain, or something like that. Anyway, I think there is a way to play that 3rd quest. I believe it was through hacking the ROM, though it may have been discovered legitimately. I also seem to recall either not being able to beat a certain boss in that last quest, things being way too buggy to advance past a certain point and/or an item that couldn't be obtained through regular means (without hacking your inventory for it). Your best bet would be to contact Skrybe. He has his own website, but because of the obvious legalities of posting ROM site URLs here, I cannot supply you with it, but he can be reached though the Lost Levels staff page. He's sharp as a tack and will probably remember all the details that have been fogged over in my mind about the game. If it was not him it was Arn. Or maybe Li Wang. Start with Skrybe and between those 3 people you will find the answers that you seek. --- American NES games left to beat: 13 Last 3 NES games beaten: Tombs and Treasure, Championship Pool, Wario's Woods [Updated 11/30/05] |

Thanks Adam, I may start out like that. I would still need to play through the Japanese version, making this one huge and massively confusing undertaking :P. Perhaps when I go home and finish Harrier and Shingen, I'll do Gekimadden and Daibouken then decide on this. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I don't think Bio Force Ape should be on the list of incomplete games. The game was not only never released, but there's no rom or prototype of the game anywhere. Chances are that unless a proto pops up someday, and that it's somehow complete and still works after all these years, and then that person decides to copy the game and upload it to the internet, nobody's ever going to play the game. There are a few "screenshots" of the game floating around the internet, but they were scanned from a Nintendo Power preview long ago. --- The University of Texas Longhorns (13-0) National Champions |

Well you never know. That's why we have a whole bunch of prototypes/cancelled games still on the incomplete list. Well, it just bothers me because as long as the game is there, if a proto never shows up, the completion project will never be "complete," ya know? Like in Gran Turismo 2, where a programming error made it so you could never get better than 98% completion, like it's mocking you. Maybe it's just an OCD thing on my part. Anyway, I think I'm going to contribute. I started playing Layla yesterday, and it's pretty fun. I'll start work on FAQing that soon. --- The University of Texas Longhorns (13-0) National Champions |

If I was to cover a puzzle/game show game (Tetris, PacMan, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, etc), I would look at (full circle) FAQs for other games in the series to see what they did to earn the complete mark. That's honestly how I'd do it, and if you did the same here (it sounds like you did), maybe it was just a mistake when you were uploading it initially. Since you can never have enough stats, Brian presents the "too much free time on my hands" stats taking of April 29th, 2006! The project (to date) has seen a completed number of FAQs totalling 206! That is pretty good... but did you ever wonder about total KB for the NES being produced by this project? Well, regardless of your NO, I present the total here: 7422 KB (about 7.25 MB) Pretty good, eh? Well, to further put it in perspective, using timski's page (though it has not been updated since late January), the total NES MB out there is around 70 MB (I am rounding up a bit for newer submission in the missing KB quantity stat area). So, that means this project has done around 10% of the total NES quantity as well, which is damn impressive in itself. Next, I have some business to address with the completed list... The following games are on the completelist, but for one reason or another, the games listed below are no longer on GFAQs, so the completed game totals should drop to 204 and the games resubmitted to the Incomplete List: Blues Brothers Super Spy Hunter And that is it for this round of bored statistical gathering... see you next time! --- 68 FAQs for games never covered at www.GameFAQs.com. Hi all. I've never posted in any of these topics before, but, kind of poked in and looked around a bit from time to time. In any event, I'd noticed the other day that Dance Aerobics for NES doesn't have any FAQs yet, and that no one was listed as currently working on it, so, I thought I would give it a try. I'm certainly not the best FAQer out there, so it's not going to be the best thing ever created or anything, but, it'll be something at least. Also not sure how much free time I'll have over the next couple of weeks, and when I'll be able to finish it, just figured I'd drop in and share that I'm working on it. |
