I'm going to relinquish Layla in case anyone else wants to write for it. I already lost my motivation to complete that guide, and it looks doubtful for now that I'll get that guide done. It's still a pretty fun game, though. --- The University of Texas Longhorns (13-0) National Champions |

One of these days I should finish up the Keisan Game series and write for Game 5, like I had myself listed for months ago. Guess I got a bit sidetracked there. >_> Will have to check out some other games on the incomplete list as well, and hopefully others will follow suit so this project picks up the pace. :D --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 NES Completion Project: http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

Ah, I should have checked the website, Devin...but I sort of wanted to bump things & that update was an excuse. Maybe next post I'll try and post what I've finished tho PC and GBA games are more absorbing at the moment. Couldn't find your email so I was curious about if you thought a rearrangement of the incomplete games might help people--into US/Europe vs Japanese games. That might help people looking for a game who don't know Japanese, and given the relatively low number of games left there(click Contribute:List Games and select Do not have a full FAQ and published in N America and Europe) it would be a nice subset to chip away at. --- http://www.livejournal.com/users/bloglecruncheon Backdated since 2003. My email is dbm11085/dbmfaqs@gmail.com. I have your AIM on my buddy list still, so you can reach me there as well. But anyway... That's a good idea actually. Thing is, I don't want it to become something where the JP games are automatically neglected since the English-language games are being pushed to the forefront, ya know? The idea of this project is to cover _all_ the NES/Famicom games, not the US/EU ones exclusively. --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 NES Completion Project: http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

Anyone notice that there are some games out there that have complete circles, yet the FAQs seem very...incomplete. I was checking out the FAQs for Rambo and there is a 4K guide from the immortal |tsr. While it seemingly gets you through the game there are a lot of vague areas in it, leading one to get lost pretty easily. The guide was written 11 years ago, but if anyone out there is really in love with this game it could stand a fresh start. http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/game/587556.html There is a knife-only guide which basically just tells you how to defeat every enemy in the game with just the knife. There is also a map of the game, which is a bit confusing to read. If I was still a single man without kids I would be all over this one, as the game is about as old school NES as it gets. It is just screaming for a thorough walkthrough, right up to that tough helicopter battle. Rambo is not really like Commando. You do go around killing stuff, but unless you are mapping the game you can get lost really easy. In Commando everything is pretty straight forward. Still, if you like slaying wildlife, this game is probably gonna do it for you. --- American NES games left to beat: 13 Last 3 NES games beaten: Tombs and Treasure, Championship Pool, Wario's Woods [Updated 11/30/05] |

A nice Chack'N Pop FAQ just appeared. Looks like it is one of those older games where the levels loop. Just popping in to point out a game I just discovered that I think would be right up ASchultz's alley: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/data/578601.html Incidentally, this is an illustration of exactly what Devin was talking about concerning the problem of East vs. West in NES games. I didn't see any Japanese in this game despite the fact that it was only released in Japan, and the same is true for a lot of Japan-only games. BTW, congrats to whoever actually had the gigantic balls to write a FAQ for STED, which I finally beat just a few hours ago. That makes the work I did for my Mad Max FAQ look like a walk in the park. I didn't see any Japanese in this game despite the fact that it was only released in Japan, and the same is true for a lot of Japan-only games. Really? I tried a bunch of Japanese RPGs on the Famicom for the sake of this project, and I found all of them to be overwhelming, language barrier-wise. Then again, not all Japanese games to be covered are RPGs either. *hint, hint* --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 NES Completion Project: http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

If anyone is looking for a new guide to write, try Jaws. There are only 5 FAQs for the game, including 3 from this year alone. On a serious note, anyone familiar with A Boy and His Blob? I noticed this on the game's code page: Unlimited jellybeans This code is very simple, use the honey jellybean over fifty times. This looks like a joke code to me, but I could be wrong. --- American NES games left to beat: 13 Last 3 NES games beaten: Tombs and Treasure, Championship Pool, Wario's Woods [Updated 11/30/05] |

Attn: Strawhat I just finished and submitted my Bee 52 guide, but then I saw that YOU'D done one and submitted it yesterday... While I don't mind that you HAD done one and I appreciate you mentioning me, I'm more than a little angry that you didn't even tell me that you were doing so. I would've been glad to help, and I'd had that game claimed since last year. I know that I've been on a long hiatus, but I haven't had time to write FAQs or visit the boards as much as I'd like to lately, since i've spent the past year working to get cash for college and going through the worst two terms of college education I've EVER had. --- I am excellent player!
