Well let's not make a big deal out of this. Adam, here is that site you were looking for: http://www.nesworld.com/mirror/nr.htm But it's very much out of date. Looks like the data queue won't be cleared until after the week-end :( |

Did a little more work on Secret Scout. Looking at doing Castle of Deceit and Airwolf (jpn) as well. Probably that Astro Boy game too when I figure out that part that AdamL was stuck on. Also made some real headway into Labryinth. Got through the hedge maze and another maze until it stopped. --- |

Nice. To clarify since it doesn't sound clear the way I wrote it, I'm not writing for Labyrinth. I have a ton of homework to do so I'll get around to finishing Secret Scout in Thursday or Friday. AdamL: If you still have those codes of Ninja Kid I could really use them. I don't think that I'm going to make it all the way to round 99 or whatever it you said it went to. Thanks in advance. Did you find out how to get past level 3 or 4 on Tetsuwan Atom? --- |

Devin, that looks really cool--good work again. Hopefully there'll be further--and more standard--adjustments i.e. someone writing something. Pseudo, I misinterpreted--probably a result of having 2-3 days left to get that massive $20 bounty for Order of the Griffon. Thanks for the clarification. Poking around a bit more with Magic Candle makes me want to learn Japanese, well sort of. You can't plow through it ignorant of the language like in Labyrinth. --- Z! I! Y! X! |

pseudo, I completely forgot about those Ninja Kid codes. It took a bit of digging but here they are. It has been a long while since I played this and I am just copying these from where they had been left off when I beat the game. I don't even remember what a couple of them were, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure them out: 0068 - Invincibility (freeze at 10) 00C2 - Shots (freeze at 17) 00C1 - Wave shots (freeze at 3) 00BF - ??? (froze at 3) 001D - Stage select (you can set this at whatever you want, just unfreeze the value before finishing a stage or you will just play the stage over again when you finish it) 00C4 - Quota (I have this value set at 10...I believe this had something to do with how many items you needed to finish a level, or enemies beaten or something like that). 00BE - Always have Scroll (freeze at 1). I seem to remember really having to work for this one. I don't even remember what the scroll does. Hope these help. Also, I did go back into Tetsuwan Atom the other day. It is stage 3 that is killing me. I tried describing this to Andrew Schultz the other day but was vague in my description (like a few of the codes above), but the problem here is that you get to an array of 4 bells that you can walk under and bump into to make them ring. On the sides of the array of bells there is a post. You can hit the post to make Japanese symbols come out. The number 4 pops out of them every 4th time. You can leave the bells and keep moving but it will wrap back to the bells again. To answer your question, I haven't even come close to finishing this stage. I had been thinking about writing a walkthrough for this awhile back simply because the game was by Konami, but this game stopped me dead in my tracks. I was just happy I eventually figured out how to fly (had to watch the intro screens to even notice you could fly). One of the weirdest controller combos ever is needed to do this. I believe you had to make 3 quick jumps (not hard jumps, just button taps) and on the 3rd small jump you had to hold up or something and you would actually fly. --- American NES games left to beat: 13 Last 3 NES games beaten: Tombs and Treasure, Championship Pool, Wario's Woods [Updated 11/30/05] |

Ok, first off thanks Devin for the new list, I mentioned "Chase H.Q." is actually released though. My bad. Most of the database updates are processed. Bold names should affect be ones on the list. Games that got deleted: -Everet & Lendl Top Player's Tennis (already listed under Top Players' Tennis) -Terminator 2: The Arcade Game (not really removed, just wasn't able to add it so it's not back in the db) -Vigilante (not for NES) Games that got merged: -6 in 1 Myriad = 6 in 1 Caltron => 6 in 1 (these are the same, just re-release with a new sticker slapped on) -Aces: Iron Eagle 3 = Ultimate Air Combat -Alpha Mission = ASO: Armored Scrum Object -American Football = Touch Down Fever -Blazebusters = Flying Hero -Block Set = Stack-Up -Buggy Popper = Bump 'N Jump -Choujin Ookami Senki: War Wolf = Werewolf: The Last Warrior -Daiku no Gen-San = Hammerin' Harry -Dash Yarou = Rally Bike -Family Block = Thunder & Lightning -Family Boxing = Ring King -Family Pinball = Rock 'n Ball -Family Trainer: Daiondoukai = Super Team Games -Four Players' Tennis = Top Players' Tennis -Gekitou!! Macho Man = Amagon -World Champ = Great Boxing: Rush Up -World of Card Games = Poker (I've only seen it as World of Card Games, so trying to remove the Poker bit.) Games that got added: +Magic Jewelry II +Mahjong Academy +Mine Sweeper 1 +Mine Sweeper 2 +Mine Sweeper 3 +Poker Mahjong +Rocman X +Shin Moero!! Pro Yakyuu (previously with a wrong US release of RBI) Other: -JuJu Densetsu = Toki (had guides) -USA Ice Hockey in FC = Pro Sport Hockey (had guides) -Technos Ice Hockey = Crash 'n the Boys Ice Challenge (had guides) *Super Real Baseball => Super Real Baseball '88 (?) *Touch => City Adventure Touch - Mystery Of Triangle *Blue Train Satsujin Jiken => Nishimura Kyoutarou Mystery: Blue Train Satsujin Jiken *Super Express Satsujin Jiken => Nishimura Kyoutarou Mystery: Super Express Satsujin Jiken Some more minor name fixes, nothing important iirc. Super Star Pro Wrestling = WCW World Championship Wrestling, but the roster is very different. Same for some baseball games but they are merged. Don't know what to say about that. Anyone know if these Pac-Man games are the same? They certainly look like it. Thanks to CJay & SB for working through this, too. |

odino, a few things: 1. So what's the deal about Terminator 2? 2. Blazebusters is the prototype/cancelled game, while Flying Hero was actually released in Japan. That said, I think it'll be better to keep those two separate, until the former actually gets dumped. 3. While Four Players' Tennis is on the same game page as Top Players' Tennis, there is still a separate page for only Four Players' Tennis (EU release). What should be done about that? I've only taken care of the list through F so far; will finish the rest later. --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 FAQ Completion Projects (NES, GB/GBC): http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

Take your time... Terminator 2: Arcade Game: I have read some vague reports it may have been in development so I tried to add it. The response was that it won't be added until there is a prototype available. I personally don't see that happening. The screenshots for Blazebusters looked exactly like from Flying Hero. Quite a few sources agree and I think CJay/SB checked before merging too. Four Players Tennis must have forgotten to be removed. It's in the queue now, thanks for noticing. I should get back to working on a guide for a change :) |

I would, seeing that they are the same game. If it turns out they are not we will surely notice and make the necessary changes. Released protos is something we should hear about quickly, right?! Devin: No idea about those games. Two of those were on the list at one point though I think. Odino: The Pac-Man games might be the same (straight arcade ports) but I'm pretty sure that Ms. Pac Man by Tengen is different than Namco's version.I would leave them alone and maybe find the differences between them if any and submit different guides for each. AdamL: Thanks man. I'll start working on that game again as well as Tetsuwan Atom. Anyway, once I'm done with these projects I'm probably going to start working mostly on the Atari, Intellivision, Coleco, and SNES. Lots of good games out there for these that haven't been done yet. --- |

Odino or anyone who's interested, I found a site with some pirate originals and "unpublished" cheats for a whole bunch of NES/famicom games. http://cah4e3.shedevr.org.ru/cheatsbase.php#2 I was going to test these to see if they actually work. So I was watching the old GamePRO TV and JD roth reviewed the Hands Free Controller from Nintendo. http://pelikonepeijoonit.net/handsfree.htm http://www.oneswitch.org.uk/2/hands-free.htm Never heard of the bloody thing. Gemerl, was that the controller you blew into (I haven't checked the links)? It was cool that they were trying to create such a controller for people with disabilities. It would be a shame not having the use of your arms (or not having arms at all) and being denied a simple pleasure like playing video games. I believe sucking and blowing did certain movements. I'm guessing the games it could be used with must have been very limited. I can't imagine pulling off the Strider triple jump with that thing or all the swinging in Bionic Commando. Still, it was a good thought. I remember when Nintendo Power had an article on it. That thing must have cost a mint. Dreamtr probably has one gathering dust in his attic. --- American NES games left to beat: 13 Last 3 NES games beaten: Tombs and Treasure, Championship Pool, Wario's Woods [Updated 11/30/05] |

Yeah it's a good thought. I'm not sure if I have that NP home or not, there were a few from the early run we don't - and I'd normally remember this. JD seemed to give it a positive review in that is does help folks with disabilities play. I guess there's really no better way to do it though, since foot pedals would be an issue in many cases of paralysis. Sucking and Blowing emulate pressing A and B? I'm not sure how it would work precisely but it's pretty cool. I don't ever expect to find one around here, after all I only found my first NES MAX last week ;P. --- Complete FAQS: 48 http://faqs.retronintendo.com | http://www.videotutoriais.com.br/sms/ |

Actually I'm not so much into codes, especially when they get all complicated with two controllers, dozens of input and so on. I submitted a bunch but I'll leave it at that. I agree a bit about the credit but it's difficult with codes. I'd rather the site wouldn't have credits for them either. Thanks again pseudo, it was fun to check out some strange Japanese games for a change. Magic Jewelry is missing from the list, it was there before the large update though so probably a minor mistake. Thanks to the code list I also noticed that: World Championship Wrestling is the same as WCW World Championship Wrestling and they got merged but both had guides already. Funny how JPeeples reviews it twice now, same contents but with different rating ^_^ Tag Team Pro Wrestling is gone, it merged with Tag Team Wrestling. p.s. BSulph and Gem, Wario's Woods was one of the last 3 games I had beaten...I didn't realize I hadn't beaten a game since '95. I am quite superstitious and was uncomfortable when I hit the 13 game mark, but I kind of forgot about it until it was just brought up. I am currently playing through Pool of Radiance, which is actually pretty good. I just cleared out the slums. I am taking this one slow, as it is probably the last of the games on this list that I will enjoy playing. The Koei games are hard for me, Silent Service does not have an ending from what I heard so I will have to explore what constitutes and ending for that one, Overlord has probably never been beaten by anyone, and Miracle Piano is Miracle Piano. I should have saved Wario Woods for last, but I was lucky to beat it when I did. Those Koei games will take time, but except for Bandit Kings (which won't let you attack the main bad guy until one of your attributes is really high) I am not that worried about them. I'm aiming for 2010 to be when I finish the list. Well the Labyrinth FAQ is submitted now with all the maps--shouldn't take you the full weekend in fact, Adam--just run away from monsters when in doubt. Though the maps have a couple typos--there is a door left and up from the start--and maybe I can refurbish them at lunch. This is the sort of game where graphic maps are probably more valuable and succinct than anything written, but--the full circle is where it is at for this topic. Now I gotta go back a few pages to see other suggestions. BTW, does anyone know Japanese well enough to help translate some Japanese from the game? I've figured out what to do, but I bet some of the details would help round out the plot. I'd be willing to trade proofreading a FAQ for any translation work for Labyrinth. --- Z! I! Y! X! |
