Maybe, we've got a few members but there's not a whole lot of activity at the moment. If you're going to dissolve the othe project then I'd say don't bother because it won't be a whole lot different. I'm still going to organize the data though, because it's in dire, dire need. --- Complete FAQS: 51 http://faqs.retronintendo.com | http://www.videotutoriais.com.br/sms/ |

So now that you've got Shingen mastered, apply your knowledge to Takeda Shingen? :p 1/3 through Hook, not as bad as I thought it was. |

Takeda Shingen 2 is Shingen the Ruler right? I'd probably need to find a translation for the first game. I might give it a spin in the future, but for now I need to finish up some other stuff. --- Complete FAQS: 51 http://faqs.retronintendo.com | http://www.videotutoriais.com.br/sms/ |

Seeming as I have been working on some NES games for about a year now and haven't finished them, I may as well give them up for completion. Bats and Terry - http://www.crazyreyn.com/faqs/bats_and_terry.txt Rainbow Islands - http://www.crazyreyn.com/faqs/rainbow_islands_nes.txt Bats and Terry is up to World 4, and would like to be a co-author. No idea how long is left. Rainbow Islands I'm giving away, as I'm only about a third of the way through the game. Done with Hook already, it was much shorter than I expected. Adam, the cheats for Tranformers are fixed now. Try resubmitting the ones for Scarabeus before we complain about it. |

I'd like to take Rainbow Islands, though I may have a co-author helping me out. Or a co-author I might be helping out. First 50 levels of Joshua completed--the 2nd 50 are mirrors of the first and with less room for error. --- My glasses! Without them, I'm helpless! |

Another one: Front Line got a full circle! Looked pretty complete to me, nice long list of strategies. As for my next projects, I was looking at doing Booby Kids and Seikima II. They should keep me busy for the rest of the week or longer. |

Yay about Frontline. Don't know why I signed up for it. But yeah, that guide is pretty good. I assumed it was a skeleton, but there's not much to say about the game. Look for Joshua tomorrow, first update. I was surprised how fun it was, with exploding goats and anachronistic radiation and bombs and all, but now I'm very tired. --- My glasses! Hey I didn't notice you were signed up for it, I guess it saves you some time though?! ;) I'm 25% through Seikima II, only barely started Booby Kids. And I have noticed the list has a few mistakes: Bourenbou Tengu which I'm 99.9% certain is meant to be Abarenbou Tengu -> Zombie Nation, which has a guide. Ryou Maboroshi Doushi I'm 99% sure is meant to be Reigen Doushi, which is the Japanese version of Phantom Fighter. Daiondoukai is Super Team Games, has a guide too. Kyuukyoku Tiger -> Twin Cobra, no guide yet *hint hint* Shinjinrui -> Adventures of Dino Riki, done. |

| With Bandit Kings of Ancient China up as Bounty, it's likely this might actually get a guide? I have a sort of mini FAQ for that on my PC if anybody is writing for it. Then again it's quite basic stuff and anybody really going in-depth will know that anyway. Still, it's a start. Though $20 for a game this complex might not be worth it. |
| Da Hui | Posted 3/10/2007 9:48:12 AM | message detail |
|
Well for $20 and a huge guide for the NES Project I think it'd be worth it. ;) The game really does need a guide and that bounty will hopefully encourage somebody to give it one. Still slowly working on Time Diver too. I've been pretty busy lately and I'll still be busy next week so I'm not sure when I'll finish it. I liked giving out like 5 guides a week, now I'm slowing down. =P --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

I was currently looking into doing another Koei strategy game anyways, so Bandit Kings of Ancient China may as well be it (never mind it is arguably Koei's most difficult and complex NES games, so I am probably doing someone else a favor by getting rid of a hectic game). --- When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. - Cersei Lannister to Eddard Stark, A Game of Thrones |

Something I noticed looking at today's new review list: There's an entry for the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 in the NES section, but that game was never officially released for the NES. The ROM floating around is the Famicom Disk System version that someone hacked into a Famicom cart. I figure this should be fixed by removing the entry and merging all of the stuff under it into the FDS entry, but Contributor Central doesn't give you an easy way to request this. What should be done? Rob |

Mighty Bomb Jack has been accepted, featuring three walkthroughs of the game, but it still only has half a circle to its name. Not really sure how to fix that since I offer two speed runs (one for the bad ending and one for the good ending) and a straight-up walkthrough that takes you through every stage of the game... --- Winners of a battle will eventually decline in power and become losers, and then those ‘losers’ will cultivate a new leader - Treize Kushrenada |

May I suggest these things: - Controls (not very hard, but still) - Item Descriptions (from the chests, 13 I think) - Enemy Descriptions, Transformations - Secret passages. There aren't so many, 12 I think. I once made a list of no. of items you can collect in a level. I could contribute that and some of the above. TBH I would have written a guide for this ages ago but I hate platformers that will just be "go right, go left, go right again" for nearly all the time. And you did that pretty well three times :) |

Thanks for the suggestion Odino. I have done as you suggested (although I have not seen twelve different items, only about ten). I'll also attach a note asking for some direction if this is not enough for a complete guide. Waaay to many side/vertical scrollers left: Airwolf (J), Alpha Mission, Argus, Baltron, Cosmic Epsilon, Crisis Force, Dezaemon, Geimos, Gun-Nac, Gyrodine, Image Fight, Over Horizon, Recca, Sqoon, Starship Hector, Super Star Force, Tasac, Terra Cresta, Thunderbirds, Thundercade, Zunou Senkan Galg. Plus I probably still overlooked a few, especially Sachen ones. There was one game where you are this anime character riding some magic carpet, a little different to those side scrollers above. By the way the fake Super Mario Brothers game was removed, I don't know what they did with all the reviews and FAQs. Wily and Light no Rock Board got a full circle. I'm always hoping they will finally release a fully translated patch for this game. |

A lot of those shmups are excellent or at least above average as well. Odino, maybe the game you were looking for is Magic Carpet 1001 from the Caltron/Myriad 6 in 1. The games on that cart are all fairly easy to finish. Most or all of them are clones of other games but they're not too bad to play. |

Volguard II, I believe that your ammo is limited (in a shmup no less). Good luck if you take that one =). Regarding Recca and Crisis Force, I half-made a deal with pseudo in January (in this topic) that if he did one I'd do the other. He must have missed my follow-up post, but if he's still up for one of them I'd gladly take the other. ^ Crisis Force may actually be the best game left without a FAQ. The graphics and play control are amazing for the NES. One of the better games that no one has heard of. Are there any big, really tedious games that still need to be tackled (that are in English)? I might spend some time to take down a longer game next. I was thinking of something like Elite, but there may be other games in more desperate need of a FAQ. --- - The Admiral |

Nobunaga's Ambition is potentially tedious, depending on how much you like that sort of game. Yeah, Crisis Force is beautiful, and a solid game. Recca is blazing fast, and difficult. Both are great. For shooters someone might want to check out Silkworm. You've got a choice between a Jeep and a Helicopter, and they play fairly differently. I don't think there's any relation to Firepower 2000, which features very similar Jeep/Copter aspects except vertical scrolling (SNES). BoringPoliticianMan, that Bombjack guide is nice! Thank you very much AdamL. He had screenshots and everything. I'll see if I can't get ahold of him to see if he still has the info. Does this rabbit appear somewhere in Mighty Bomb Jack or just regular Bomb Jack? Either way it would be nice to know, but they are actually two different games, so if it was actually in the original no need to go to too much effort to find it. :) --- Winners of a battle will eventually decline in power and become losers, and then those ‘losers’ will cultivate a new leader - Treize Kushrenada |

BPM, it is the Tecmo Rabbit does indeed appear in Mighty Bombjack. If I recall, you have to make a chest appear in the air, then get on the chest and go through the ceiling.
