^ Yeah, I agree. I don't think SB is out of it yet. I was hoping my Donkey Kong Jungle Climber FAQ would get accepted today (it doesn't have a single guide of any kind yet!), but it turns out I will have to wait :(. --- The earlier you wake up, the more time you have for fun. Tecmo World Cup Soccer needs a guide, the one we had was for the wrong game all this time. Bo Jackson doesn't exist so I'm confident it will get removed with the next data queue clearance. I wonder what made SB add this all of the sudden. |

Super Spy Hunter done. It may not be my best effort, and I bet I may've missed some details because the genre isn't my forte, but I figured a way to get through the game without cheating--mostly by using hex cheats to isolate what I was doing wrong. --- LEMSDAY. |

Pretty much. The thing is I've gone through all of the menus in each building twice and still couldn't figure out how to get to a race. If I just know how to race, I'd be able to FAQ it but I'd probably be better off if I had a deeper translation. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

I have not finished Gyrodine yet, but I have decided to upload the guide so you can see the progress I have made. I am also finding it hard to get some time to sit down and write for any game atm, but I will try to complete it before the new Professor Layton game arrives in the UK. --- Allow GameFAQ users to Track Guides by signing this petition - www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=44545278 |

Go to the lower right building called Kabu Shiki Gaisha R.I. (Foreign stock car R.I.) Inquiry about the Rally (option 1) then about kuruma (car) [option 2]. Next, inquiry about a sponsor (option 3), next inquiry about okane (money) [option 4] Last, inquiry about nakama (partners) [option 5]. Leave. Go left then up at the intersection then take a right. Visit that building called Car Mania Club. Ask about the sponsor. Say hai (yes) [option 1] then leave after he finishes talking Go to the building on the upper right called Kabu Shiki Gaisha Rinku (Foreign stock car Link) which will have Rinku K.K on the top of it and choose sponsor. Choose money. Leave. Chase down the three guys in black and when you catch one, just leave. Do the same for the other two. Now go to the building above the Kabu Shiki Gaisha R.I. called MitsuTomoGinkou (Secret Agent Bank) ask about money and say yes then leave. Go all the way left then on the fifth intersection from the bottom, go right and enter the first building you see. It is called Auto Center. Ask about the car. Say yes, and you'll be given a 4WD Sports Car. Leave. Return to the car mania club and choose partners. You play a minigame. Hansha Shin Kei Sokutei Test (True Light Reflex Measurement Test) A or B will appear in random spots. Press A if you see an A and Press B if you see a B. You will receive a grade based on your progress. Then press yes. Go to the building at the bottom in the middle called Rally Kyougai (Rally Circuit) and choose Rally. Say yes and off you go to race. --- http://www.youtube.com/user/PurrfectTrio The new breed is here to take the gaming world by storm. |

Wow... In other news, Fantasy Zone 2 has an SMS guide linked and I think the games are really the same. Plasma Ball might be a game to FAQ, although some Japanese knowledge for at least the menus might help. If Lagoona is into that game maybe I can help out? :) Else I may recommend Parasol Henbee and Woody Poko. I feel left out here...*writes a Mahjong guide* |

After playing it for a bit, I'll definitely have to set aside writing a playthrough for a few weeks until I can get a much better computer, though I can write most of the "How To's" right now. That said, is there anyone here who's capable of dumping raw data? I ask because P'rakidus Conflict is really large; you're fighting in space, there are sixty-four sectors, 5-10 solar systems per sector, and 5-10 planets per solar system, each with their own coordinates and things they can do and can't do, and I'm too much of a completionist not to list all of them, but oh dear lord it would be far too much to do manually --- Wish Upon a Darkstar |

Well, actually, I am almost done with the game and I could send it in today or tomorrow. You don't have to visit everywhere but it would be interesting to do so--I think I have a way to visit all sectors pretty quickly, but it seems secondary to getting through the game. --- LEMSDAY. |
DarkstarRipclaw | Posted 8/31/2009 3:24:24 PM | message detail |
Well, the game's not randomized, so the data's already there for everything. Looking at it now though, I'm thinking that yeah, plain description of all the places that it's mandatory to go is sufficient. By the by, you give a recommendation in your FAQ at the beginning for those who are using emulators. Might I perchance suggest something you could add in? Instead of staying in one spot and shooting everything, if you have an emulator that has a turbo button, assign something for your B button, and just hold down one of either your left or right keys and your up or down keys and you'll basically spin through space and shoot nonstop. The process might be slightly slower but it's a lot less attention you have to pay to basic grinding (or you could just tape your keys down). That said, since you already got it done, I'm thinking I'll work on Gaiapolis fairly shortly. --- Wish Upon a Darkstar |

Do you have any documentation on the game whatsoever? Given that it is an unlicensed game released only in Asia and the arcade game it was ported from seems to be as obscure, there is not really much in the way of online info. In particular, I have been screwing around for the last couple of hours with the three different characters. So far, I have been struggling to find any real differences; all three have minor differences in HP and strength to start off with, and I cannot tell if there are any differences in attack range and speed - I am thinking it is a maybe, but after playing it for a couple of hours straight, it is entirely possible my eyes are just fooling myself. --- Wish Upon a Darkstar |

DarkstarRipclaw | Posted 9/1/2009 3:23:36 PM | message detail |
You could try emailing ritchie and ask if he knows. That said, on the Gaiapolis front, I think I've got the hang of the game (basically, hang back from a lot of enemies and spam the autofire B button). First level is done, if I do not have much to do tomorrow I could ideally have it done by midday tomorrow, unless there's some hidden secrets or something in this game (wait this is a Sachen game) --- Wish Upon a Darkstar |

Darkstar, thanks for pointing that out. I played through the game and touched up some more points in the guide as well. Credit given, etc. I think I will tackle Indiana Jones next. I played the Arcade game, and the NES looks similar. It seems doable even without warp zones and I think I can draw maps too. --- LEMSDAY. |
DarkstarRipclaw | Posted 9/2/2009 8:38:42 PM | message detail |
adaml or anybody else who has played Gaiapolis, a couple of questions: does anyone know what exactly the 'items' seem to do? (That is, the ones that cause an item to appear in the square box in your status bar, or change it) I'm assuming it's some sort of magic spell, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it does or how to get it to do anything. Additionally, does defending actually do anything? I've tried defending against most everything and basically every attack passes through my shield or arm block and still causes damage. --- Wish Upon a Darkstar |

So for the 9th topic, which is inevitably going to happen in the very near future... I nominate either Lagoona or the Admiral to make it. From: odino | #466 Quickly looked at a Youtube video of Plasma Ball - and it looks bad... something like 1-on-1 robot football fighting. Don't think I want to tackle that. Then I checked out Parasol Henbee. It's quite a tough start (without cheating), but with 'cheats' I should be able to get into the game, then hopefully do it without them. But I'll need some help, as there are a few Japanese menus. I might shoot an e-mail to you soon, odino. --- .Nobody is perfect, I'm nobody. :-p *Blob* |

Incase anyone here is interested in the percentages of complete NES games (according to this site). Total NES games = 81% US NES games = 99% Japan NES games = 74% EU NES games = 99% It is also the third highest console with the percentage of complete FAQs (behind Virtual Boy (100%) and Flash (85%, with 1 game remaining)). --- Allow GameFAQ users to Track Guides by signing this petition - www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=44545278 |

I would imagine that the Flash percentage will go down when more games are added. |
Games | Posted 9/4/2009 10:25:27 AM | message detail |
^ I would say that would depend on SB's acceptance of them. Unless there is a Flash game that you have to pay for, the acceptance criteria would (to my knowledge, but may have changed over recent years) require the proof that the game have a major following. It looks like Lagoona has started Part 9, so before this thread is closed a couple of items: 1. I've been unable to locate this, but I could swear that Odino or somebody had compiled a handy list of Japanese games that required little knowledge of the language to play. Could someone please add this to the new topic and/or the project webpage? 2. Another thing I swear I remember reading is that someone on this board had a Miracle Piano System, if so, then what's the hold up? 3. Does anyone have access to War in the Gulf? I haven't been able to find a copy on eBay, Chase the Chuckwagon, or any "historical preservation" sites. 4. At what point would the rest of you be open to starting one or more new Completion Projects? I agree that starting new projects now would only divert resources from the NES Project, but if you look at some of the completion percentages for systems like the Game Boy (26%) and Playstation (23%), that's just pitiful. I agree that starting new projects now would only divert resources from the NES Project, but if you look at some of the completion percentages for systems like the Game Boy (26%) and Playstation (23%), that's just pitiful. Depends on my access to the system chosen. Although, I would point out that some of the consoles with low percentages could be because the games are hard to obtain. I am focusing on Archimedes games atm (mainly the Data side of them, as evidence by a section of my website), but would help out with any other Completion Project. I would also think that this question would have been better in the new topic, instead of at the end of this one. --- Allow GameFAQ users to Track Guides by signing this petition - www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=7&topic=44545278 |

BHodges, 1 - I made this post: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/detail.php?board=2000094&topic=47269585&message=544880040 But there's still more to it. There's been a couple more translations since and obviously some of those have been done since that post. 2 - AdamL has the Miracle Piano System but he really doesn't have time to do it. Which you can tell from his very infrequent posts. He welcomes somebody else to write for the game but said if it came down to him doing it and it was the very last game for the project, that he'd write a FAQ for it. On a side note - I have seen some used go for a reasonable price on ebay of like $50-75 before. If you want, I bet you could pick a copy with the keyboard up, write a guide, and that'll be a big push towards finishing this project up! ;) 3 - I have no idea, I've personally always been looking for it myself trying to knock off the rest of the Euro/NA games but I could never find it anyway. 4 - Really not too sure. I'll just leave it at "no comment." ;) --- Don't **** with Da Hui |
