Gegege no Kitaro 2 is complete. Hooray. I want to tackle a much smaller game next time, though, and Deep Dungeon III is still hanging around. --- LEMSDAY. |

Da Hui, yours is better . ;) odino, I wondered if you could help me with MSJ. I need a better translation than google is giving me. I can't figure out how to level up, or how to get access to the main castle (?) at the west of the 'Youth" map. The area to the south, that leads to Rhatany has enemies that are much too strong for my guy. The game is hard, since you can't get get cash from defeating enemies, and you start with 80 cash and the only way to heal is to buy a drug that costs 60. I'm intrigued by it, but so far progress is very slow, well, nearly non-existent. :( --- "You found a mouse but it won't help you beat the game." (Rhapsody DS) |

Andrew, I forgot to mention, if you're looking for smaller games, you can try Creatom and Great Wall as well. Those could probably be FAQed in just a couple of hours that are just some obscure puzzle games. By the way, I started playing a bit of P'radikus Conflict, does anybody know if the game gets any better? Apparently the first mission is just to blast away random space ships until you upgrade your drive and shield systems but it takes a while of very repetitive shooting to get the money to buy them. If it gets better after you get those upgrades, I may end up FAQing it. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |
odino | Posted 1/8/2009 1:58:27 AM | message detail |
I could try to help there, but I don't really want to get into the game right now that I have little time. Try contacting the patch author first, he must know something about the game, and I am in touch with him frequently thus he should be helpful. Da Hui, your guide is better :) Ever checked out Stunt Kids? Challenge of the Dragon (Sachen)? We should ask Goh_Billy to look at Street Heroes... |
ASchultz | Posted 1/8/2009 3:28:16 AM | message detail |
Great Wall is done--thanks odino and Da Hui. You're right--there's not much there, and it pretty much bowls you over with speed in the end. Pipe V left me shaking my head when I first tried it, but maybe another day I'll be able to knock it off. That and Pyramid 2. I'll see about Creatom as well. Just not up to a console RPG at the moment, though if I crack that last bit in Deep Dungeon III, I'd be thrilled. --- LEMSDAY. |
Da Hui | Posted 1/8/2009 10:40:17 AM | message detail |
I know about Stunt Kids but I'm honestly just not too sure how to FAQ it. I really don't want to FAQ it listing every little part of every stage mainly because I'm not sure how long the game is. I'll probably eventually FAQ it, but I'm going to wait on it now hoping that somebody else will FAQ it. Now that I have looked through a lot of games in the past couple of weeks, I have a lot of ideas, I just need to decide which one to start first. =P I'd still like to try to figure out those SD Gundam Gachapon Senshi games. I played the first one a couple times and figured out how to do most of it, I just don't understand what the buildings do. I'm assuming they upgrade your robots but since I can't read Japanese, I can't figure out how it works well. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

Da Hui: I kind of liked P'Radikus Conflict. But then, I've been known to like a lot of games that most people hate. As for Gundam, I played the game that was fan-translated on the Game Gear, and there the buildings that you could actually interact with (as opposed to simply take over) were used to build new units a la Advance Wars. Gents, long time no see. I have been a class-A lazyass lately but hope everyone is doing well. Now, with the formalities dispensed, I took care of Over Horizon today and just uploaded it, so it may be crossed off ye royal liste. Anyone ever play this? It's actually a pretty good little side-scroller. Also, still working on the in-depth Conflict guide although it's both tedious and extremely long so progress is slow. Semi-major update: I have updated the incomplete games list. Removed a number of games that were deemed to be duplicates, corrected spelling errors, and basically listed everything as it appears on GameFAQs. I have also updated the stats page to reflect these new changes, so check it out. There were a couple of things which were omitted (at least for the time being, until someone can verify 100%), particularly games with complete FAQs for other systems that are linked to the NES version as well. Those games are: Gemfire, Hydlide 3, and Karate Champ. Anyway, I felt this update was necessary to clean up the project site a little bit more. Thanks to Da Hui for helping me compile the necessary data to make these changes happen. And now, we can rejoice at having just under 350 games remaining! --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 NES FAQ Completion Project: http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

Is anybody good with the cheats system in emulators? I usually ask Adam but he's been really busy with stuff so he hasn't been able to respond to me since I asked. I have most of a FAQ for Final Combat complete, I just can't beat the northwest most base. Can anybody here figure out a cheat for how to get unlimited time and health? I always seem to run out of one of those. I just need to beat it so I can face the final base that you can only fight when you clear the map and my FAQ will be done. For the time being, I decided to start FAQing for Po Po Team. It will hopefully be done by the end of the day, it should definately be done by the end of the week. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

Several things: Sorry Odino and Da Hui for being absolutely ZERO help to you in coming up with codes for the games you needed. I feel like a scumbag for not being able to help, but you seemed to have done nicely without me, so that is good. Might as well scratch me off the list for Gaiapolis. I really enjoyed that game and thought it was one of the best Sachen titles out there. It will be a nice guide to write for someone who enjoys action/adventure games and is probably one of the few guides remaining for a decent game that is in English. I wish a detailed Ultima: Warriors of Destiny walkthrough for the NES version could be written. Maybe when the completion project is over with in 2010 we can scour the list and nitpick the guides that could use better guides. I say this hoping none of my guides get redone, but knowing it could happen ;) Lastly, the wife has been bugging me to clean out the basement since summer time. I keep putting it off and putting it off. There is apparently a high radon level down there (which could possibly explain some of my recent sluggishness) so we are having it mitigated as soon as we get the $$$ for it. What does this have to do with anything you ask? The boxed Miracle Piano Teaching System is lurking down there somewhere. When we eventually do get the basement organized and turned into livable quarters, I will hook that thing up down there and try to knock out a guide for it. Please though, if someone is secretly preparing to do this, please DO IT. FAQing this game is still one of those tiny gnawings I get in the back of my mind that I know must be dealt with eventually, one way or another, if not to just make Odino and SMX happy. I'm still amazed that guides are being cranked out for this old system at such a steady rate. You people are dedicated machines. Red Warrior needs food badly! --- American NES games left to beat: 11 Last 3 NES games beaten: Wario's Woods, Overlord and F-117A Stealth Fighter [Updated 5/24/07] |

Whoever wrote the FAQ for Ultima V clearly never touched the NES version of it, assuming that it was the same as the computer versions. It's quite different, using an engine similar to the one used in Ultima VI. To the best of my memory, it's also been simplified quite a bit for technical reasons most likely. I don't envy whoever decides to write a real FAQ for it (probably ASchultz); it's an awful port. Rob |

Anyone have a good game in English on the completion list? I was looking at P'Radikus Conflict but it's a bit long and I'm still working on a full FAQ for Conflict. Da Hui | Posted 1/19/2009 10:42:22 PM | message detail |
MiG 29 Soviet Fighter, Silkworm, and Super Turrican are some pretty good shorter NES games. You should also take a look at the Platformer and Shooter sub-genres under Action. There are still quite a few games that are relatively short. I have a couple of FAQs in queue myself, should be a big day tomorrow when the site updates. :) For now, I will claim Jajamaru no Daibouken. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

odino | Posted 1/22/2009 8:00:10 AM | message detail |
No offense, but that Metro-Cross guide could really do with a stage-by-stage walkthrough rather than a general description. The levels are designed to have a strategic path to get through to beat the time. It is very tough and without strategy the general tips are more or less like a manual (close of saying, useless to use as guide to play through). |
Da Hui | Posted 1/22/2009 11:27:29 AM | message detail |
Yeah, I figured as much but there were several stages that were to just follow the path through the slip pads which was why I ended up not doing. I might as well touch it up and add the stage layouts to each stage. At the same time, I will claim Ninja Jajamaru Kun so you can put my name on that game. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

Heh, I guess I just got lazy with that game. =P Anyway, I will hopefully have my next project up by the next update. I have my school schedule set up for only classes on Tuesday/Thursdays so I think I should be able to FAQ during this semester, unlike the last. --- Don't **** with Da Hui |

I've been lazy. I just finished the first world of Magical Taru Ruto-Kun. The levels are short and simple, and the game REALLY reminds me of SMB3, so it shouldn't take too long. Anyone working on a Mirai Shinwa Jarvas FAQ might want to wait. I've found a gamekilling bug that keeps you from warping from Java Island to Oceland, which is about two-thirds of the way through the game. I've confirmed that it's due to the patch. I've told the patch author about it and submitted an edit to the RHDN entry. Rob |
