So is there an ending to Atlantis no Nazo? When I reached the end I remember being able to wander around even more and possibly go back to the beginning of the game but I was too frustrated with the game to do it. This game was also supposed to be released as Super Pitfall II, for those 3 people who didn't know. --- American NES games left to beat: 11 Last 3 NES games beaten: Wario's Woods, Overlord and F-117A Stealth Fighter [Updated 5/24/07] |

Yeah, no worries about getting through the game, there is a boss in Zone 100. But the game is not linear thus you don't jump from 1 to 2 and so on. I will have to branch off several times just for some zones. The existing flowchart shows this pretty well. Another thing, Rey, do you know if Electrician needs to be played 8 times to get the true ending. Pluv once sent me some info but so far this I got not confirmation. |

Atlantis no nazo does have an ending. You just rescue some dude and it will say thanks or congratulations. But you'll still be able to wander around the stage if you wish. Makes it seems as if there's more than meets the eye. If you do the NAGOYA secret, you'll be taken to a last stage, but as far as I know you get no ending for going there. I didn't know there was a boss in stage 100, but I doubt it will give you an ending. If crazy Japanese people haven't found new stuff on this game, then I doubt there's any. About electrician, I haven't played the game yet. Adaml should know more about it than me. However, this page shows the real ending, but I can't understand how to achieve it due to the page being in Japanese. http://www25.atwiki.jp/famicomall/pages/573.html |

^ I didn't play the game so it was hard to wrap my head around it, but from what I've gathered you have to clear the game 8 times, and every time find a "secret level or exit" in a certain level. It seems like the first time through the game, the secret is in the 5th level. The second time through, its the 6th. Basically -- 5, 6, 7, 1, 2, 3, 4. Not sure about more than that. --- You'll laugh, you'll cry and you will never want to go to sleep again. --jollzoffire about Dragon Quest VII |

Does anyone have information on Famicom Jump II? It seems that there are seven heroes you can pick from. Each character's path is slightly different but certain areas are the same across the board. Is this something where you need to play the game 7 times to get a true ending? I can't find a clear answer for that. --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 NES FAQ Completion Project: http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

I saw that Electrician page before but also couldn't figure out if you had to beat the game 8 times or not to get the ending. Can anyone figure out what the secret is that you must do in various stages each time through the game? The different backgrounds are cool. I haven't actually played the game in over a year but I may get back into it. I started playing Final Fantasy II and discovered I hated it. The leveling system sucks and the "proto" version I am playing names things differently than they are in the FAQ. I put it on the back burner and took out Deep Dungeon (FDS) and am currently playing through...AD&D Pool of Radiance! Finally, almost 3 years after I'd beaten my last American NES game I decided to attack this game and boy is it addicting. I'm using Overdrive's guide and ASchultz's maps and have made it all the way to clearing out the Kobold Cave. I made a code where the "Area" command is always available, making it easier to find your way in certain places by using the map at all times. You aren't supposed to be able to use it in certain spots, but the code lets you do it (like in the Kobold Cave) and the places are actually still mapped out in the game. Very cool. If things roll the right way and I beat Pool of Radiance, I might start hacking away at the remaining 11 US games I need to beat and we all know what one of the games on that list is... --- American NES games left to beat: 11 Last 3 NES games beaten: Wario's Woods, Overlord and F-117A Stealth Fighter [Updated 5/24/07] |

I never did really figure out how those Electrician secret stages trigger. It just sort of happened automatically as long as I made sure to hit those secret spots hidden in every underground stage that cause the background to change. Rob |

Yeah Rey, that's it. Too bad we couldn't incorporate the FDS games into the project, as they are pretty much interchangeable with NES/Famicom titles and were coming out at the same time, with games like the Deep Dungeon series running sequels from FDS over to the Famicom. Then Electrician would definitely get covered :) --- American NES games left to beat: 11 Last 3 NES games beaten: Wario's Woods, Overlord and F-117A Stealth Fighter [Updated 5/24/07] |

Don't know anything about part two, only tried playing the first once using this guide: http://www.adventureisland.org/fj1.html Btw maybe we could collect all this info Rey and others throw around, not cluttering up the list but it would be a shame all these links to Japanese guides/strategy wikis/info get lost in all these posts. |

Devin Morgan, it seems there is no special ending for clearing the game with all 7 characters in the second game. I have read this page http://www.hi-ho.ne.jp/hirose/letro/fj2.htm and the guy doesn't mention it, he only says that you can play the game with anybody since it's pretty much the samething. Just a thought, but if you go to this page you can click on the entire manual to Miracle Piano...all 197 pages maniacally scanned by somebody. Somebody could make a guide from this manual. Hell, I've seen guides for games on this site that look worse than some instruction manuals do. Since this is an instructional "game" anyway, it's too bad we can't cross-link the actualy manual to this site. --- American NES games left to beat: 10 Last 3 NES games beaten: Overlord, F-117A Stealth Fighter and Pool of Radiance [Updated 2/10/10] |

Games | Posted 2/11/2010 6:35:14 AM | message detail |
@ adaml, nice to see that you have finished another American NES game (based on your sig). Using the manual would be a good idea, but someone who has played the game would be the best choice to tackle the guide, regardless of the manuals existence or not. @ odino, do you want me to stop? I have not seen anyone complain about it, so I just kept on posting them as it seemed to bring a bit of life/conversation in this topic while staying on-topic. Additionally, I started just to keep the information here for Devin when he had limited access to his website. Anyone think that we could get the amount of games required to have guides down to 250 by the end of this topic? Basically, just write another 3 guides for incomplete games. --- Want to be able to submit System Requirements for games? I just feel it's excessive if some posters already mentioned they have uploaded or completed it. Kind of like stealing their thunder too. We'll have it below 250 by this week for sure. SMX where's your mindreading for this...? :) |
Devin Morgan | Posted 2/11/2010 7:38:48 AM | message detail |
Actually, during that stretch where I had no reliable daily net access and no means to updating the site, Games was helpful in posting new FAQs in this topic. Aside from that, I think the topic moved along quickly since there was a lot more being discussed and shared amongst us this time around (most notably thanks to Rey). As for who makes the next topic, we have very few regulars who haven't already made the topic, so it's down to... ReyVGM, Pluvius, or DarkstarRipclaw. Let's try to come to an agreement on that one before this topic ends, so we don't have any downtime in between topics. ;) We will definitely hit 250 at the end of this week, at least I think so. --- Devin Morgan | CRP #3579 NES FAQ Completion Project: http://faqs.retronintendo.com |

I love you Yami. In a way, I'm kinda sad Miracle Piano is done. Don't ask me why, I was probably never going to get around to it anyway, but it seems like the end of an era. ^It used to be worse. I narrowed it down so anything before 2009 was no longer claimed. Maybe if those 2009 claims aren't complete by the end of 2010, we'll be opening them up as well. Of course, even with a claim, it doesn't mean you can't make your own FAQ for the game. I know there's this whole thing about 'being the first one' (maybe that's why virgingirls are holy grails?), but if someone did a FAQ before you, then just make sure yours is better, finish it and post it. Just to prove 'em all wrong! In the end, no one is going to care who did it first, but who has the best info. When looking a FAQs for old games, I usually go with the newest FAQ (as long as it's complete) because in my mind a newer FAQ had more time to compile more info. *results may vary* |

Yeah adam, 10 games in '10. You already did 1 so you need to do another 9, which will leave you with Miracle Piano for 2011. So even if you don't have to FAQ it anymore, the piano will still be calling you at night from the closet or attic or basement or whatever, "What's wrong, adam? Oh you're right, I only opened the first map (Brittania) and it loaded up fine. I assumed the other 2 were there too. I hope Andrew reads this and fixes the dead links. Oh wait Adam, why are you asking for Andrew to finish the Ultima Warriors of Destiny FAQ when I just checked and it's complete. SMX, you are right, it is calling me right now as you speak. Oh wait, that's my wife telling me to get off the computer. How much you want for the bounty? I believe Odino said he was going to contribute $20 and Devin was good for $15. Rey, you are helping me because I'm an idiot. Pure and simple.
