Just curious who actually has that game + piano aside from Adam (and the guy from the picture)?

Why exactly is adam not making the piano FAQ again?

Is it lack of interest or is he just waiting for gamefaqs to put a bounty on it? :P

Ha, makes me feel less guilty for adding weirdo Asian unlicensed games; even though the two Ds get those out of the way almost quicker than adding. Just now I added the rest of the 6-in-1 cartridge and I suggest IceQueen splits up the guide for the individual games and they will link back to the compilation.

If new games are being added, please list them here so they can be added I guess. :(

I'm currently looking at a few different games for FAQs, but am having trouble with each. Chinese Kung-Fu: Challenge of the Dragon is glitchy. I found information on the Child's Quest game but I don't think I can FAQ it myself (maybe someone else can?).

I think we need to make solid progress on the RPGs (only 58 of them) and board game type games remaining to get this project down in numbers. :) If nobody is interested in the links I posted, I may very well take them myself after a while... they make FAQing those games easier after all. >_>

Started on Zunou Senkan Galg yesterday. Things I am starting to note:

1) Invincibilty cheat does not work when you fly into a wall
2) Only 1 enemy part per wave, which makes me sure I have to go through the game several times to complete it
3) There are 300 enemy parts, although I only need to get 100. Makes me wonder if this means I have a chance to miss 200 enemy parts throughout the game.

Games, from what that site I linked to says, there is only one part per 'wave'. And you have to do three 'laps' through the stages to get at least 100.

translate.google.com is your friend for those Japanese links I posted... May not be the BEST translation, but it works!

Grr, it's almost Monday and I don't have anything ready to post! :P

It's going to be hard to top last week as far as new NES FAQs are concerned, especially from here on out.

I am currently looking into Pachiokun 4, Aa Yakyuu Jinsei Icchokusen, Hiryu no Ken III and a few others. It's getting tough to not stay in the "looking for quick/easy games" mentality. >_>

adam, Rey, or anyone who makes cheats... Is it possible to get anything for Hiryu no Ken III, particularly an invincibility cheat? If possible I request the same for Hiryu no Ken Special: Fighting Wars. I've been playing both but an invincibility cheat would make beating these games (and FAQing them) infinitely easier. If need be, you can email me. Thanks in advance!

I made a bunch of codes for HNK3 a while ago:
http://gshi.org/?s=v2&sys=5&gid=9742

Careful with the zero energy for bosses code. If you use it, you won't be able to get the secret item (or whatever it is) from the boss.

And if you know Japanese, tell me what all the menus mean in the fighting game one and I'll make all the codes you need.
ReyVGM | Posted 1/31/2010 9:21:44 PM | message detail
Ok fine, I made some codes for the wrestling game one:
http://gshi.org/vb/threads/3657-ReyVGM-NES-codes/page23

With the infinite ability points you can make your character very powerful since the start.
I don't know what the KO bar does in this game (in the others you can do specials).
Even if the enemy has zero energy, that doesn't mean that you'll win right away, but you will be able to knock him down faster.

ReyVGM | Posted 2/1/2010 2:08:18 PM | message detail
Haha, why were you asking for cheats if you didn't know where to input them? :P

Anyway, I don't know what emu you use, but they should all be the same or similar. Enter the cheat option, put a description (example: Infinite Lives), put the address (example: 00F5) and then the value (example: 25).

The value is what changes the number of things you want. If you want 7 lives then put 07, if you want 9 lives then put 09. The values are in HEX, so if you want to have 10 lives, you have to put 0A and not 10.
Devin Morgan | Posted 2/1/2010 2:36:09 PM | message detail
I knew how, just they didn't seem to be working when I tried it. Call it a massive overlooking on my part. The codes work, thanks much!

Hi
yeah I'm around but the few games I'm working on are long-term goals, mainly Kujaku Ou II and once I get the menus done for Namco Classic II it should go quickly. Good thing our kind of games don't clash in genre. Besides I am also looking into the remaining FDS games; maybe you can have a look too :)

The new games in the DB are:
* Balloon Monster
* Cosmos Cop
* Adam & Eve
* Porter
* Bookyman

And with Magic Carpet 101 these are all in "6 in 1" covered by IceQueen.
Devin Morgan | Posted 2/2/2010 10:08:54 PM | message detail
So IceQueenZer0 if you are reading this too... Mind doing that? ;)

Thanks to ReyVGM's post a few pages back about the blogpost on Nico Nico Douga membership, I knocked off a non-NES game. Very cool!

I also found that strategywiki.org has some Japanese encoded game names to go with the english ones, so we can see what's on youtube or nicovideo easier for our games--for those who don't know. Easy cut and paste reference for game titles...or does anyone have better?
---
LEMSDAY.
Devin Morgan | Posted 2/5/2010 8:12:57 AM | message detail
I look up game names on GameFAQs, then go on atwiki.jp (http://www25.atwiki.jp/famicomall/121.html), sorted alphabetically, and see what they have. Then I'll C&P the Japanese name of the game into Google or Nico and see what comes up. It works for me, and that's how I've been finding these Japanese guide sites for a lot of these games (some of which I posted in this topic).

That's something similar to what I do too.

I take the Japanese name from the atwiki site, then google it and take the product ID number from the boxarts I find and search for those ID numbers and I usually find right away the english name of the game I'm looking for.

I wish gamefaqs would get on with the times and allow Japanese text to go along with the romanization of the game names.

I'll claim Atlantis no Nazo for real now then, need to go through all 100 zones and it would be annoying if someone else posts a guide beforehand...
ReyVGM | Posted 2/6/2010 4:44:19 PM | message detail
As long as you have cheats and save states, the game is not hard. The stages are short and all you have to do is figure out where the exits are hidden (that's the hard part).

Use youtube, niconico and strategywiki as references. I think I remember seeing a Japanese page with a full walkthrough, but I might be wrong.
Da Hui | Posted 2/6/2010 6:36:24 PM | message detail
I'd hate to point out more work for Andrew Schultz but you can try e-mailing him about Atlantis no Nazo odino. I know he has some script/program that will map out stages (not sure if it will work in this game) and it shows hidden stuff. I remember that's how he found the hidden passages for his Shockwave FAQ. Hopefully he could help you out if it's not too much of a pain for him so you can quickly find all the doors to each zone.
